iBus//ANSI-C allows applications written in C and C++ to connect to iBus//MessageServer and iBus//MessageBus. iBus//ANSI-C is also suited for integrating legacy applications. iBus//ANSI-C consists of an API library containing an ANSI-C version of the JMS Publish/Subscribe API. It further consists of a pure Java proxy daemon. Applications that use the ANSI-C library establish a TCP/IP connection with the proxy.
The ANSI-C library imposes minimal requirements on the operating system environment: An ANSI-C compiler and a BSD socket library needs to be provided. Neither a thread library nor a Java interpreter is required for running iBus//ANSI-C applications.
